All Individuals seeking a legal status in the United States are required by law to have an immigration physical performed. This may include an examination of the eyes, ears, nose, throat, extremities, heart, lungs, abdomen, lymph nodes, skin, and external genitalia. The doctor may also require the patient to have a chest X-ray and blood tests.

The exam will also include an assessment for the following vaccine-preventable diseases including; mumps, measles, rubella, polio, tetanus and diphtheria toxoids, pertussis, Haemophilus Influenzae Type B, Rotavirus, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Meningococcal.
